What should my child wear?
Comfortable outdoor clothes and shoes that can get muddy. Warm layers and waterproof jacket in cooler weather. Sun hat and sun cream in warmer weather. Forgotten something? Don't worry. We keep a selection of spare wellies, waterproofs, warm clothing and sun hats on site that children can borrow if needed.
Do I need to worry about ticks?
Ticks are increasingly common in Dorset's outdoor spaces. We have tick repellent available on site and encourage families to carry out a tick check after sessions. You can find more information here: (link)

Please contact us to discuss your child's individual needs. We are always happy to explore whether Summer Club is a good fit and how we can help your child have a positive experience.

You will need to fill out our Consent and Medical form before you child attends their first session with us (see button below).
Come and join us for fun, supportive days of outdoor adventure, creativity and nature connection.
Our Summer Club is a chance for children aged 6–14 years old to spend a day immersed in nature, making friends, exploring, creating, cooking and playing. Led by experienced Forest School practitioners at our beautiful site near Askerswell, each day is shaped by the children, the season and what we discover together. We believe children thrive when they have time, space and freedom to play, imagine, create and connect. With a maximum of 14 children per day, Summer Club offers a welcoming, relaxed environment where every child can feel known, valued and included.
What makes Thriving Wild special?
Our Summer Club is rooted in Forest School principles and the values that underpin all of Thriving Wild's work: inclusion, belonging, curiosity, kindness, play and connection. We believe children thrive when they feel safe, valued and free to be themselves. Summer Club is a place to slow down, build confidence, develop friendships and experience the joy of being outdoors. We aim to create a space where children feel safe, included and free to be themselves.

We have a number of supported places available for families who find cost is a barrier (beyond the above categories). Please contact us for information about available funding support.
