Our values
Safe spaces 🌿
We want all our participants to feel safe during our sessions and will have safety in mind at all times. Whether we are at our base in the Folly Mead field, or at a more local venue, we will provide a welcoming space to come to. At the heart of what we do is the need to build warm and trusting relationships. All of us experience anxiety at times, but for many people, anxiety can be overwhelming and stop us getting out the front door. Talk to us about how we may be able to make things easier. Come and see the space and say hello prior to your first session.Â
Inclusive spaces 🌿
We aim to make our setting and sessions inclusive to all members of our community. We recognise different members of the community will face different barriers to accessing projects and engaging with nature. This can include issues of resources, anxiety levels, neurodiversity and culture. We will strive towards removing as many of those barriers as we can over time. We aim to create low demand environments that take the pressure off.
Celebration and care of nature🌿
We believe that nurturing a feeling of being part of nature, and not separate from it, can enrich our lives and help protect our world. We weave opportunities for nature connection into everything we do and respond to moments of curiosity with questions that support self-enquiry. There is no one way to engage with nature! We care how we impact on the environment and keep learning about how to look after and give back to our natural spaces.
Reflection and learning🌿
Learning about our own limitations and strengths is important to us. We are committed to being reflective about our practice and to valuing the views of others about how we are doing. We strive to communicate well with all those who are affected by our work, to learn from our successes and mistakes, and to expand the capacity and skills of our team.Â
Thriving wild🌿
We wish to celebrate the abundance, awe and adventure that is right here on our doorstep. Nature is thriving with life! Even the smallest patch of scraggy looking earth has a wild community living in it, ready to be noticed and enjoyed. We also recognise that the myriad demands of our society can make us as humans feel lacking and not enough. We want to play a small part in changing this story so that we too feel that we are enough and thriving with life!   Â
